"Architecture must be there for the people," says company founder Kurt Ernsting and his successors today also place architecture in the service of future generations through sustainable and holistic construction methods. In addition to ecologically sound and recyclable building materials, Ernsting's family relies on solar energy: The warehouse bears the energy itself through the use of façade-integrated photovoltaic systems.

The high-bay warehouse will receive, according to the design of Nabo, with the exception of the green roof surface, a glass primary facade, which in turn, is enveloped in the south facing façade surfaces of a folded solar membrane.
